Dreadlord transports

I decided to try the 'Dreadlords on parade' game. I was playing on Tough level and about 3 or so turns after the first galactic vote thingy... A dreadlord transport turned up with escort!

Is this just a one off hit to wake me up or are they programmed to hit me with all they got as a primary target? If i'm gonna be a primary target then tell me and i will stop wasting my time in trying to continue my game.

Also I noticed in the main campaign on 'normal' level, the Dreadlords do not protect their transports or form very effective fleets. No challenge at all in beating them, so how does the higher levels change their behaviour?

At Normal the AI does not have all of its algorithms unlocked yet, and has slight economic penalties still. At Tough, the AI has its wits fully about it and no penalties, so it should indeed try to escort transports, etc, to make itself a tougher opponent. This may not happen on lower levels where the AI is still limited.

If they have attacked you, you should expect more attacks to come. The AI is not scripted in any way, so if it is attacking you, it likely has decided to kill you.
