I am still waiting for my copy of GC2 but I encountered this problem with other games. Whenever this happened I could make my mouse visible again by going to controlpanel->mouse and activating the mouse trail. This can be done without using the mouse by simply using keys. Unfortunelty the frozen Cursor stays on the screen, but the mousepointer is visible again.

I have the latest DesktopX (v3.10.042) installed on my PC. After installing the game FEAR I get a Buffer overrun error whenever I try to load an object or a desktop (Widgets still work). The game FEAR also installs a special? version of DirectX9c called August edition, so I am guessing that the problems come from some sort of incompatibility with that directx version.
