After snooping around for a while I'm fairly sure this is the correct place to post, if its not I apologize and would appreciate being pointed in the right direction. I just bought GalCiv 2 ultimate and I believe I'm having some kind of performance bug. Take a look at this screenshot: http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/7136/gc2twilightofthearnor20.png I get 4 FPS in this shot, 'best' graphics settings with AA off. After playing with the options I discovered that disablin

Why do you get more rewards for being evil? Because being evil is harder. Good civilizations tend to ally each other and keep from warring with each other, and tend to pic on evil civs. Neutral civs seem to like good civs better. Evil civs tend to get ganged up on and often war with each other (although they sometimes have good relations with each other.) So basically, the more evil you are, the more bonuses you get, the more enemies you get

Ive seen minor races expand. Minor races are a bit more timid and dont play a role in bigger things. They dont get to vote on the UN but they still seem to take part in diplomacy like a major race.

The game seriously doesnt need them. I dont see a place where they would fit in, nor is Brad going to go out of his way to add a bunch of MOO2s features to his game. He has made it quite clear in his journals that hes not going to saturate the gameplay with what someone elses concepts of what a good TBS game is to please MOO2 fans.

I don't think anyone is asking for GalCiv to be MoO. I think you are taking those quotes out of context. I think Brad said that to answer the critics who don't like Gal Civ simply because it is not Masters of Orion. I don't think adding heroes to this game is a bad idea at all. I agree, they should be added as a mod that can be turned off or on according to pref

Economic Capitals give a % bonus to income like economic improvements. When I make an economic juggernaught planet I usually start with 2 military/social generators (for faster social improvements), a starport (so those first 2 improvements wont be wasted later), and an equal mix of farm improvements, approval improvements, and economic improvements for optimal tax gain and approval %.

Another quote from Brad: "Yes, and what I'm saying is that you're going to be disappointed. GalCiv has its own take on what space strategy games should be and it has a legacy and fan base that goes as far back as the original MOO as well."

Brad Wardell: "At the end of the day, we have our own ideas on what makes a fun game and want to pursue that. And I can sympathize with Master of Orion fans who, ten years after MOO 2's release, are still looking for what they see as a "true sequel". But please stop trying to push MOO on us. We don't see being different from MOO as a flaw. "

Click metaverse at the top left of the screen you are looking at now. Youll see a space station, click library. At the top bar mouse over Galactic Library and choose Add/Upload New Mods. Looking forward to this one

Im not sure, but I think I read a thread about the spending sliders in Galciv2 and it said that if you say have 33% in military and you arent building any ships, it gets automatically divided between research and social. Anyways, to the starter of this thread, If you dont want to be attacked I suggest building ships throughout the game instead of just 1 per planet. The AI is like a pack of hungry piranhas if you have no military, even the g
