I read your responce but I am not sure I understand. Did you say that you lost the systray without updating? Since it sounds like a mess in there try uninstalling Object Dock then go check the directory to see if the files were totally removed. Restart your machine, then install through Impulse and not SDC. See if that works for you. seabass. right. I had not updated. my systray dock was there one night and also the next morning, but when I restarted (I reboot about once a wee

when i used impulse to uninstall object dock plus, files were not found, so was unable to un-install the prog. received same error msg using sdcentral. object dock was not listed under vista installed progs. so i'm using as is until fix found. btw, i had not updated the prog (running latest beta), yet restarted one a.m. and my systray was gone. deleted dock & re-installed but no luck. running vista ultimate w/latest up
Ditto on Hankers fix working. Had same prob updating today. Checked out the forums, came across this thread and the beastie was happy! Thanks!!
YES! Much faster! Congrats!
Of the available option icons, I have only two visible. The 'apply' and delete' icons do not show, but the option links for those options are there. I just move the cursor until the hand appears.
Yes, WB will ignore programs you exempt from skinning. However I have had scroll bars skinned with current skin on programs I have WB ignore. AOL Explorer for example.
This is a repost from #9: I have a minor glitch with 1 of my systems. The option icons are all visible on my Dell Dimension 4100 I purchased in 2001. It has a 1 gz p3, 512 meg of ram and a GeForce2 MX400 graphics card with ver. 52.16 vid drivers (I know they're out of date, but it's my server/backup). However on my main system (2.8 gz P4, 2 gig ram and GeForce FX 5900 w/256 ram w/ ver 78.01 vid drivers) only two of the 4 option icons are visible (
VERY INVENTIVE! However, I have a minor glitch with 1 of my systems. The option icons are all visible on my Dell Dimension 4100 I purchased in 2001. After reading all the above comments, I was hesitant to install the beta. But, I rolled the dice and everything worked. Thanks to the advice of the above comments. I did try to change my skins (all of my skins were showing) the usual way, using the config window, but the results were black boxes and XP classic. I did read the guide and sure enough, I used wbconfig.exe and all was and is well with the world.Don't understand the difference in using wbco
Thanks for the help! I've saved the instructions for future reference. The animated Wmediaplayer icon works great! Thanks again for the quick response also.
I am trying to use animation in objectdock for the first time nad I can't get it to work. How do I go about getting animation to work with objectdock?
Droopy's the one!!
Thanks for the advise on the fix. Like Fairyy~, I left for work with every thing showing and working.Came home after 10 hours and things were flaky. I even had to uninstall and reinstall Stardock Central because I was getting an error on opening.
Ditto on the OD+ not working. I go to work and my desktop is fine. I lock it and go to work. Come home, unlock pc and my OD+ is buggy. One major item is when I setup a dock to show system tray icons, the dock does not even appear. Anyone else with something similar? I run XP Pro and am running DesktopX along with Windowblinds + other Stardock programs.
I am getting the same messages saying failed installation. I have cleared the temp folder as mentioned by Scribe Essencay. I have rebooted, but still no luck on the install. Any other suggestions? </
MAHHHVELOUS! I actually sat there mouth agape because I couldn't believe how fast the page popped up!!
Thanks Bluedev! Am registered & using!!
If there are any gmail invites left, I wouls like one sent to pland53@msn.com. Thanks,
:D I REALLY like the new look!!Great job! Not much else to say except HOME RUN!! :CONGRAT:
Also. on the nVidia site, the 40.41 driver is supposed to work with W2K.
I run W2K SP3 w/VisionTek GeForce4 MX 420. I loaded the 40.41 driver and I had a BIG loss in performance. Like Komarino, When I tried running older games (versions less than 6 months old) The games would hang. Also In the advanced settings card tab, the 'new' window would not show. I went back to 31.00. It works fine for me.
OR you can use a piece of freeware called ICONDESK by Bulent Yukruk. I forget where/when I got it, but the site in the about box is: byukrul.tripod.com. I don't care for on my desktop and I'm still learning to use DesktopX. Just a thought... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="P
BRING IT ON!!!
Great design! My vote for dark grey or blue - since thse seem to be the fave colors of 'most skinners. Oh yeah, my vote for XX & XXX size...
I'm for the idea of the CD. I am artistically challenged. I know what looks great, but have not had luck creating my own skins, so I download the works (& that is what most skins/wallpapers are-works of art!) of others. I have felt somewhat guilty for only taking. So this would be a way I can contribute to the skinning community in some small way. AND considering the amount of time involved in skinning AND considering what time is worth to some people, $19.95 is a small price to pay. Did plainso
