Battle of the Gods mode

Tried playing "Battle of the Gods" mode for a change of pace. Two problems:

First up, a glitch: It makes me pick my alignment, twice in a row. Then it offers me three government upgrade popups "would you like to switch to..." TWICE in a row (six popups).

Second up, and more importantly: Building my very first planetary development -- a factory called 'Industrial Sector' -- would take a whopping 160 turns. Buy it? Can't, because it costs $12480 and I start with $5000. Lease it? Cheapest lease is $1610+$58/wk, which seems like it's gonna break the bank long before I can buy a second building.

Has anyone played this game?

Battle of the Gods is unplayable at present. Folks at Stardock are thinking about modifying it and perhaps supplying players with a large pile of money to start with.

Maybe it might be worth considering disabling the alternate forms of play for release, in order to concentrate on mainstream problems, until after release.

It's like taking over a planet in the late game. I'm not sure if they're going for it or not, but its been suggested that there be a way to build an older/obsolete factory type like basic, regular or enhanced and upgrade on up after that.

It's been suggested more than once but according to Cari there's probably not going to be time to add functionality like this for release. Maybe in a post-release add-on.
