Planetary Employment

Is this feature used?

In planetaryImprovement.xml, the various buildings and their improvements list a column called "employment", which ranges from 0 (colony base) to 30 (secret police center).

A search of draft-3 of the manual finds 0 instances of the word "employment".

So what do these numbers mean?

Un/Employment was removed from the game in a previous beta. So the data lines you found are just leftovers.

Why are employment still there in Dark Avatar? do they have a meaning now?

No. The game ignores those tags so there's not a lot of reason to spend the time to go through and remove them all.

it is possible to just make a short program to do an auto search of each of the files with the Un/Employment tags and remove them. I dont see how removing them is a waste of time. Even if the game ignores them, it will still read them to decide if it should ignore them. This isn't a speed hog, but it is a small problem in efficiency that is easily corrected.

I understand that you and the other creators of this game do have other things to do then delete useless tags, but it wouldn't take a huge amount of time to do so.
