Jagged fuzzy icons again

I have a very specific problem with fuzzy icons. Here are the details:

On start up, both the large and the small icons are fuzzy. Repairing the icon cache using tweakUI smoothes the large icons, but the small icons (such as you see in the tree side of windows explorer, or in the details view) remain fuzzy. In addition, only certain icons are fuzzy- the folders, drives, .exe without icons, etc. I guess they may be the shell icons.

The start menu and taskbar icons are fine.

My color depth IS 32 bit. In addition, my shell icon BPP is also 32.

I tried using shell small icon size of 16,24,32, doesn't make a difference.

I have switched color depth to 16 and back to 32. Doesn't fix the small icons.

I have tried the various repair options in icon packager.

This happens with all the icon packages.

I read through all the posts I could find. I'm stumped. Although the problem is with very few icons, those are the ones I see most, particularly the folder and drive icons.

Any suggestions?

Hello I had a problem where small icons (system tray, start menu etc) were pixelated and jagged. I found a fix and it worked for me perfectly.

Go..Start-->control panel--display--click appearance tab--click advanced button--under item select "captions button" then reduce the number under "size" click ok, then apply ok.

Hope it works for you.

Xfaust,

I tried to find this under the advanced tab and had no luck. Am I blind?
