EverQuests Getting Expanded

EQ2 Gets PvP, EQ Gets Destroyable Environments

Sony Online Entertainment has announced the 11th expansion to EverQuest, its most popular MMORPG. EverQuest Prophecy of Ro will be available for digital download and in retail stores in North America for $29.99 with a special pre-order price of $26.99.

"EverQuest Prophecy of Ro will give players the opportunity to interact with and transform the online world of Norrath like never before," said Chris Sturr, Sr. Brand Manager, Sony Online Entertainment. "In addition to a variety of new features, EverQuest Prophecy of Ro continues the fascinating storyline as new and old players alike explore, battle and adventure through EverQuest on more than 30 new missions encountering new creatures and environments throughout the journey."

The expansion will bring about three large changes including spheres of influences, player set traps, and destructable environments. Accompanying these changes comes a handful of minor additions including eight additional bank slots, a buff filter system, and a slew of new missions, characters, spells and more.

EverQuest's big brother, EverQuest II will also be receiving an expansion at the same price point, including the pre-order discount. Kingdom of Sky's biggest addition to Norrath will come in the form of Player versus Player combat, or PvP and will be available February 21st.

"Kingdom of Sky offers something for all of our EverQuest II players," said Laura Naviaux, senior brand marketing manager, Sony Online Entertainment. "For the seasoned EQII player, Kingdom of Sky increases the amount of high level content in a world filled with intrigue and the potential destruction of Norrath by the evil dragon lords. The second expansion pack brings the excitement of dragon battles and is timed to coincide with the newly-added Player vs. Player (PvP) action."
Along with the long awaited PvP, Norrath will also see that its players can reach level 70, with guilds being able to advance to level 50. Kingdom of Sky will also see an addition of 25 enemies, new player titles, zones and arenas among other changes.
