Error In Installing ShareWare Version 5

It keeps asking for a reboot...

Sorry to bother all of you guys, but I really love Window Blinds, and for the past month or so, I had been using version 4, when i saw 5 come out, I immediantly removed 4, and dowloaded 5. However, I've never gotten it to work... Every time, it finishes installing, it asks to reboot, and the computer reboots, and when it starts up again, instead of loading up, it just asks again to reboot. Then once its rebooted for the second time, it stops loading at startup, and when i open it from program files, it again just asks me to reboot. If anyone had any suggestions i would be very gratefull, again sorry if this question has been asked before, or its a very simple answer..

Are you using Panda Antivirus or Tenebril Ghost Suite? There are issues with these two programs with blocking teh wb.sys file from installing. This could be your problem.

Okay, I got Window Blinds to uninstall, I then reinstalled, and it gave me the same problems.. I had MS AntiSpy off while doing this.... and thats all I have left protecting me...

Did you have a firewall? If not, you could very well have picked up a bug somewhere. Not here, but somewhere. Better run some scans. You also said you have been using WB4 for a month. Could be you need to go ahead and pay for it as it is shareware, not freeware. It is only a 30 day free trial.

I reinstalled with my antispyware and firewall off, no luck, same problem. If its an issue with needing to pay, shouldn't it still install and just refuse to load saying that? I'm not gonna shell out 20 bucks if the program wont work....

An app on your PC is preventing key registry entries for WB from being written.  Does the installer display any error messages during installation?

No, no errors display throughout the installation... After my last failure, I reinstalled all of my anti-spyware programs.. but it doesnt make sense, nothing was installed that would be giving any protection..

I've used both EZ and MS AntiSpyware. Do you have a registry checking/monitoring program running? Have you tried eliminating startup apps, turning them on one by one? There was another thread in which the same problem was happening and after a few weeks of hard-core investigating, the user found that one of his security programs was blocking a major registry change needed for WB. I can't remember if it was a backup and restore program or a firewall/antivirus suite. You might look into this. But I don't think EZ Armor (Antivirus) will block installs without prompting verification from user. Best of luck.

If you didn't get any alerts during install or you just turned it off without a re-boot, it's probably MS Anti-Spyware. In Settings/ Real-Time Protection; un-check the two options. Re-boot and try the WB install again.
