Terrible stability issues - Constant screen corruption and explorer crashes

I recently purchased the full pkg. I've disabled everything but WB after just a couple of days, due to stability issues. At this point, it seems that the issue is WB.

Sure, the blinds is really neat, but I can't live like this. If I can't get this thing working 100%, I don't want it.

I've rebooted my machine more times in the past week than in the previous three months - no question. I get all sorts of screen corruptions. Buttons will appear to have been chopped down a little, missing one end or the other. Screens won't repaint. The entire toolbar in IE will disappear. As I move the mouse around, I can get it to come back in pieces. By far the worst, however, is the fact that windows explorer keeps crashing, requiring reboots. If I try to enable a skin, half the time it will crash explorer. If I turn off the skins because I've had enough of the screen problems, crash. Sometimes, the screen painting issues seem to get better if I unload programs. I have a gig of ram and I'd like to think that's enough to run a few apps. I've tried all the stock skins, thinking it might be skin-specific.

This is an HP pavilion zd7000.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you.

First of all, sorry for a late response.

You are a valued customer (and community member) and we all here to help you.

Have you tried "Enable this if you have corrupted title-bar buttons and manues" option (WBConfig's System Information ---- Look at the right-bottum) .. ?

Yes, I randomly discovered those two settings and set them both a couple of days ago.

I went to the nvidia web site in search of an updated driver and they had no mention of a single update ever for my card.

I can't see my response. If this is a dupe, forgive me.

I enabled both those options a couple of days ago, just in case.

From what I can gather, nvidia has never released a single update to my driver, so I'm "current".

Hmm ... Ok ..

Try doin this:

1. Completely Uninstall WB 5 using SDC ...

2. Reboot

3. Delet c:\program files\stardock\object desktop\windowblinds

4. Download / Install current build (5.00(b).006) through SDC...

5. Reboot .. !!!

6. Activate WB and apply skins

For mobile devices (laptops) you won't get the most recent driver from nVidia - you need to look at the HP website (in your case).

The nVidia site specifically says that the mobile chipsets have to have manufacturer-customised drivers.

I have a Toshiba notebook with GForce Go 5200 and I can't get the drivers from anywhere except the Toshiba support site.

FWIW.
