wb5 skins with glass effects kill anti-spam program

Purchased wb5 recently and thought it was working well until I discovered that when I load a skin that uses the glass effects , my "Easy Armor" anti-spam program ceases to work. I can return to a skin that does not use glass effects and the anti-program works again. This sort of nullifies the reason for purchasing wb5 in the first place , to be able to use the new glass effects. Using the per application selection and excluding the "Easy Armor Anti-Spam" program does not help as the anti-spam program runs in the background and is not a visible program.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What is going on with all these stability issues and 3rd party apps?  It's almost like WB5 wasn't designed to play nice with anything.  The Per Application exclusions are total BS if you ask me.  That's not a fix... it's a bandaid on major issues with the skinning engine that WB5 is apperently using.  If people wanted to exclude 90% of the programs they use just so that they would work with WB5 on their system I don't think a lot of us would have bought the program.  These issues should have been taken are of in BETA... not in FINAL.

To Charles... you might have to wait for Neil to do some testing with this perticular app.  If it doesn't run as a task I think WB5 has a hard time knowing not to skin the program.  I've never seen any antispam software not show up as a task.  Are you sure about this?

JRSCCiviv98: What applications have you had to exclude?

When I say that the program runs in the background and is not a visible program, I mean the program is not visible on the screen at the time it is running.

This is part of the suite of programs "Easy Armor Sescurity Suite" by Computer Associates that is furnished to users of Time-Warners "Road Runner" broadband internet service.

I now have a 30 day trial installed.

How do I reproduce the problem?

With the anti-spam program installed , you just load any skin with glass effects ( I'm using ObscurityPP compact right now and the anti-spam is not working , I can reload the skin Primary Colors or any other skin without glass effects and the anti-spam works just fine). The anti-spam usually picks up any spam and puts it in its anti-spam folder and any unrecognized spam that gets through , you just select to block it and the next time email comes from there it will sent directly to the anti-spam folder. With any skin installed with the glass effects , the program doesn't stop any spam, it all goes to the inbox folder and when you then try to block it , nothing happens it just stays in the inbox folder until you manually delete it or move it to another folder.

I really do appreciate your attention to this problem.

Found a fix , doing a per application exception for the anti-spam program did no good , but doing a per application exception for Outlook Express fixed it. Thanks

I had to exclude Real Player, but you've fixed that... thanks.  What's really killing me now is the CPU speed stepping problem.  I've currently unloaded WB5 because it's causing these problems... hopefully you'll be able to implement a fix shortly.  I know it sounds like I'm just complaining, but I am truly just finding WB5 a step back from 4.6 rather then an upgrade.  Maybe 5.1 will be better.  Somehow I knew I should have just waited.

On a side note, even though it has nothing to do with WB.  Whenever you click "Quote" in these forums all it does is add the quote syntax to the reply window... what it should do is add the syntax and then the txt out of the reply you're trying to quote along with the user's name so that the quote makes sense.  All the other Forum software packages out there function as this.  Just thought I'd point that out as well.
