WB5: No skins on list

Hello,

I'm experiencing a problem after purchasing and installing WindowBlinds 5. I've restarted my computer plenty of times and have skin folders within the appriopate directory which is my folder "C:\Program Files\Stardock\Windowblinds5". It appears that none of the skins I've downloaded form WinCustomize and the skins WB5 comes with are not showing up on my list of skins, only the two original skins my computer comes with by default (The XP and original default layouts) Oh, and I've tried browsing to the folders and no ".wba" or "zip" formats are within the skin folders, WinCostumize directly installs the skins to the folders, but nothing happens. I've even tried re-installing WB5 and I have the same problem. I look foward to any answers to my question. Anyone have a clue what I should do to fix my list so that all the skins I download show up on my list?

Thanks again!

did you specify that folder on installation? Mine go to C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds = i have ODNT but my WB folder didn't label as WindowBlinds5, just WindowBlinds.

If you click 'rebuild list' do any more show up?

have you clicked 'add skin' then browsed to where you have the skins?

Yah, I specified the folder to "WindowBlinds 5" as I was fearing that it might be one of the older version of WindowBlinds that may be interfearing. Though, I still unistalled that old one before I installed WindowBlinds 5. By the way, I've also noticed that it's not allowing me to change my toolbars or animations either. It will only work when I refresh these items by either restarting my computer or logging out. I figured out how to load a skin to actively work, but it still doesn't save in my library of skins in WindowBlinds. All my skins are still saved within the directory, it just doesn't show up on the library in the program. I'm completely stumped as of why...

I've installed the directory into, "C:\Program Files\Stardock\WindowBlinds5" So no, I haven't installed it directly into the Object Desktop directory. Would that change anything if I did?

Rebuild list doesn't do a thing, it just refreshes the 2 default skins any XP computer would come with.

Yes, I've clicked the 'add skin' and browed to the appriopate directories for my skin, but I have nothing to add as it has to be either a 'wba' format or 'zip' format which neither is included within the folders. All I can do right now is download an existing skin right from WinCostumize and apply it right away.

You need to install it to the default folder.

so without specifying a directory, normal installation, you still had this problem?

did you get any error messages? what does 'system information'?

when your purchased it, did the email confirmation include a link to the StarDock Central Browser?

I've done that before I installed it in WindowBlinds 5 and had the same problem. I will try it agian and will let you know if I have the same problem.

Same issue here, with WB5 all I see listed are the 2 default skins. I've tried everything I can think of several times and its always the same once I reinstal WB5.

Zero errors it just wont bloody work

Yes, I have the same problem. I just reinstalled WB5 for the 3rd time and made sure it went into the default directory it automatically provides for everyone.

Just like Mulcifer, I get no error messages popping up at all.

It says this under 'system information' in WB5:

WindowBlinds 5.0 System Information Report:

STATUS : WB+ SRV+ HLP+ UI+ TRAY+

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC.

WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC

Your machine supports per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins.

No, I did not get any information about the StarDock Central Browser provided within my confirmation e-mail as I've only purchased the WB5.

It appears there are a few machines which have problems with their ODBC drivers and on those WB lists no skins, or displays an ODBC picker dialog.

http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/mdac_fixup.exe has been reported to fix this issue and Stardock have altered the next build of WB to not use an ODBC database at all, instead using a custom data store which does not rely on the OS database support.

I downloaded + installed everything into the i386 directory like it askes. I did get pop-ups explaining that I'm replacing my files with outdated ones. I ignored them and installed everything correctly and restarted my computer. Still no library on WB5...
