Activating WB5 and getting it to work!!!

I just bought WB5, I removed the trial version I had and installed the full version. After it asked me to reboot and I went back into the system WB5 didnt start autmatically as I thought it would. I read the Read me file and it menitoned Activating the program but I have no idea how to activate it! Worse still when I tried to run WB5 it just wouldnt open at all. I am getting no error messages or anything at all. Can someone please tell me how I activate the product and how to get it working? Thank you.

Forget my first question........do you have Stardock Central (SDC) installed?

yes I do and before u ask I also downloaded tha way too...still made no difference..now I am going to ask for refund and am going back to the trial version of WB5 cos at least I didnt have this much hassle. But unless someone can come up with something I want my money back.

So when you try to run wbconfig nothing happens?

Run msconfig, find a .cmd file which is set to autorun and remove it.  Reboot.  All should be fine.

Thanks Neil it worked! WB5 is now fully working on my machine. Thanks again. guess it was my fault all along!! and I just couldnt see it!! Thanks again!

I think we are going to make wbconfig display a message when it has that problem rather than just quit.

On another unrelated matter, I had that problem again. WB locked up when I left it running on shutdown. This occurs on the free version of WindowBlinds 5. Same problem; can't change skins. Again, I changed back to Classic (that's the only skin it would let me change to) and rebooted.

What if you don't have .cmd to disable?  I downloaded WB5 via SDC and still get prompted to activate it, but it won't accept my email address and serial number that is registered with Stardock.


Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated as I just renewed my yearly subscription yesterday.
