Reboot after WB5 Install causes 100% CPU Peg...

Can't even launch task manager.

Hey all, I was using WB4 successfully for a long time.  Just yesterday, I used SDCentral to Unist WB4, then rebooted, then used SDCentral to install WB5.  When prompted I rebooted.  When I login my system pegs to 100% cpu and I cannot do anything...can't even get TaskManager up.  I do see the WB icon in the system tray.  I was able to remove only by using Safemode with Networking and running SDCentral again to do an uninst (I was surprised that I did not see WB5 in Add/Remove Programs).

Thoughts?  Thanks.

Hi,

I've had similar problems, but only when running in conjunction with ActiveWords, which seems to be the culprit. What other 3rd party apps are you running?

Same problem here, I can however get the task manager to run though ending the WB5 process doesn't solve anything...

Having CPU usage problems here myself with 5.. I was running 4.9 RC3, and everything was fine. Had difficulty upgrading, so I had to uninstall WB and reinstall for the newer version.

Now, I get heavy CPU usage (50-70%) with some skins, particularly the ones with WB5 features (transparency, etc).. I have a Radeon 9800 and Athlon64 3500+, and System Info on WB5 shows that everything is just peachy - but it seems to be hitting the system CPU incredibly hard. It even lags my mouse pointer I have windows open that update their GUI frequently...

This kind of CPU usage did not happen on RC3...
