Feedback on user interface

Just purchased the beta of Galciv, and spent a very enjoyable night starting to play. Great game.
I would, however, like to provide some input of the current user interface. Maybe someone has already provided this feedback?
In general the interface seems unpolished and difficult to use. The text scroll arrows, for example, are very small and sometimes hard to quickly get to and there is no support for the mouse scroll wheel which would be great.
I know it's a beta, so I don't expect complete polish; but in the spirit of a beta it is important to provide feedback.
