I don't understand the meaning of this words.
Kwanzaa and Hanukkah
Kwanzaa is the equivalent of Christmas celebrated on some regions of Africa.
Hanukkah is the same for the Jewish community.

Hey!!!! Could you say me if I am "in" or "out" of the contest?

Unfortunately ... rules are rules ..

I know you are good person ... I do like you and your work ... but bending rules for one person WILL open a plethora of flaming and rants; and could destroy UPCOMING Contests ...

Still waiting for a final bits from AP .. !!!

I have just posted an update of the contest.
Unfortunately the IP by D. Arnaez was voted against acceptance do to the established rules of the contest and as BX mentioned, bending the rules can have serious impact on future contests.
However, I look foward to see Dario's work on the next contest ( A Valentine Theme Contest )

I'm with you. Now... I remove it because the gift was given... and for a comment about it has Christmas items instead Holiday as the name that I gave it. So... can I participate again? With some changes of course or I need to do somethink totally different?
Thanks Apocalypse.

There was no need to remove the theme and a re-submission of it will only go against another rule (No ports, borrowed images or re-coloring of previous work.)
Since the IconPack has already been uploaded it cannot participate. But with one week left on the contest you might have the chance to upload another pack. Downloads don’t count on this contest so a last minute entry has as much chance to win as a first day entry.

I love the challenges, my friend.

Ya know BX, you sometimes cause more harm than good. First you comment on D. Arnaez's icons and tell him to enter them in the contest and you would talk to Apoc and get him to let the icons in and now your telling him rules are rules. Would have been better if you had kept your mouth shut and he wouldn't have removed them. While I'am at it, a lot of your posts on the forum makes people think your a stardock employee and your not. Somewhat miss leading of you. Like WE are developing and things like that.

In BX's defense, not that he needs one...he had pointed out the contest entry possibility 'before' it was brought to anyone's attention that the IP had been posted elsewhere. Afterwards, I think he was just doing what anyone would have (and there were a few who wanted to see it happen) and offer to talk to Apoc, to see if an acception could be made. I don't think he was misleading. For me it sucked because as much as I would like the competition, myself and others have stuck to the rules, and I felt petty for saying anything at all. Of course it also goes without saying that D. Arnaez would have kicked my azz with that pack, or anything he comes up with, but as he graciously allowed, he would prefer to follow the rules and decisions of the judges. I look forward to whatever he submits and hope I may be as gracious at loosing as he was in dealing with all this.

WOM, I don't know if it makes a difference in your opinion of the whole thing, but BX is a judge in the contest. Might matter to you. Might not.

but BX is a judge in the contest

I wasn't aware that BX was a judge. So, I'm gonna go WAY out on a limb here. It's a little discouraging when one of the judges goes beyond recomending that someone enter their skin in the contest by saying that it's 'first place material'. Kinda makes me feel like 'what's the point.' I thought the judging took place 'after' the 18th. Given that it is a 'panel' of judges....and it is my first IP and first contest entry...I'd still like to think I had a chance before the contest is even over.

WOM: If you would haveread the description given by DA carefully, it is nowhere mentioned that this pack has been uploaded somewhere else. I only thought that this pack is for WC-ONLY so I thought it better to recommend him to edit the description and enter the contest and posted the link to the official post in which rulles have been mentioned CLEARLY. Then CyberWorld pointed out that this IP has also been uploaded to his personal site. So that's why I called the other judges to get their openion.

While I'am at it, a lot of your posts on the forum makes people think your a stardock employee and your not. Somewhat miss leading of you. Like WE are developing and things like that.

I am NOT a SD employess but does it also prevent to think SD and WC as my home. It's all about feelings and that's all. I like to help people just because of the reason that I want to pay-back the community which helped me, gave me prosperity, and developed me; and want to follow the foot-steps of those great seniors who helped me when I was noob. Is it something objectionable. And as far as I remember, I haven't said that WE are developing this, and this, and this but I also refer SD's software as Our software and it don't think that this is something illegal.

Po': it was only my PERSONAL openion as a community member. It has NO connection with judging and giving someone undue favor. It's like that a teacher likes a student and recommend him to pos his remarkable article to a mag where he works but it doesn't mean that he is giving him some sort of undue favor.

And I am not the only judge ... their are others and their is a criteria which we can't alter or break. Just be easy, we will not mis-judge anyone. I do like all of your enteries too .. and currently using your IP ..

BX, its my home also, but when I'am helping someone, I don't use the words like WE, I use THEY, so I'am not confused with working for stardock. Ya need to be careful how you say/tell people things. I know as its been mentioned by other people, not just me. Think about it.

This is the kind of dilemma I wanted to avoid in regards to judging the contest and the reason why I would had prefer that the issues regarding the contest be brought to the table and be discussed before making any public comment.
It is also the reason why I wanted the identity of the judges to be kept un-known and for the judges to maintain silence on the comment forums as their comments can be taken as preference.
On this particular issue the author (D. Arnaez) has shown good competitive spirit and accepted the challenge of creating another entry for the contest. I admire him for this, but rests assure that the judging will be solely based on the work submitted and not on any good deed or popularity of the author; neither it will be based on the personal criteria of any of the judges.
I ask that this issue be put at rest so that the contest may continue with no distractions.
