Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to apologize for giving everyone a hard time. (Jafo + Cerebro) But, my situation in particular is a very irritating one for anyone in my shoes.

I still say Jafo sucks though will Wallpaper approval!!! (that should be my quote) I won't apologize for that. Lol.

Anyways, perhaps my "real issue" is I spend too much time at WinCustomize.com. For the last 6 months I've spent 8 hours here EVERY night. Wish there was an award for active logged in time, I'd have that one easy.

In short, no one likes to be passed up or feel as though they are over-looked all of the time. I've helped out my share of people here too. I am the former "Laoran" of WinCustomize.com for those of you familiar with that name instead. Just too many problems with the laoran email address and I decided it had to stop right there.

I just want this community to be moreso equal between skinners and contributers of other types. Kills me to see some skinners here for a month (not mentioning anyone in particular) and be notice as an Apprentice whereas, other contributers of different types are "overlooked". Perhaps not intentionally, but still.

I don't demand your understanding in this situation but everyone has the right to be heard regardless of their issue.

He's not the only one moderating wallpapers you know.

Doesn't really matter. Point is my online time consists of only WinCustomize.com. I'm dedicated to the site and my time is too. I try to help out as much as any admin or mod you can name. I respond to peoples support posts and such that would other-wise be overlooked. I for one still never received a response for a question I had about WinCustomize Browser. It's been weeks. Ridiculous huh? How hard is it to answer the question of, I selected the browser to use my default Windows browser to open links. Yet it openes IE instead and doesn't load crap. (Opera is my default). It would have been sufficient to see an I don't know, or works for me, don't know why it don't for you. Being overlooked on the matter wasn't sufficient.

Where are you to defend people like me when you see us get bashed?

It's not only about the mods and admins. It's about everyone. I'd say the "scrubs" of WinCustomize.com reign supreme overall. Can't run a site with only mods and admins and other higherarchy figures alone. Would be a pretty empty site.


As I said on another article. This pretty much all started when I got bashed by a "developer" for trying to upload a fixed iconpack. I was told it wasn't mine to distribute and some other unnecessary comments. It took that iconpack in particular a week to get "fixed" and work right. When I had the fix since day 1. I didn't want credit for the fix, I didn't want credit for the iconpack it wasn't mine. I wanted to be helpful to the community. I didn't feel like getting the crap end of that "developers" bad day.

Have you emailed support@stardock.com with your WinC browser problem?

Very unlikely....it took me the first 6 months before I realised T-Man had conned me....and that I COULD actually logout....

Re the alteration and redistribution of another's Icon pack.....you may have thought you were helping but in-so-doing you were breaching the artist's copyright, hence the rejection.  That isn't about having a 'bad day', it's about respecting property rights.....the whole reason works here are moderated in the first place.

So, the 'this' that 'pretty much all started' was/is all down to misplaced enthusiasm and that's about it, really...

If this is the case, problems like mine should have at least 1 reply. Shouldn't go a weeks untouched (and still no response). With all of the experience around here, I believe the answer are here. With at least someone. People that post asking for help, at least deserve a minimal response if not anything else. Not just a blank thread. WinCustomize.com Browser question = WinCustomize.com issue IMHO. I posted to where it was supposed to go. Just wanted to mainly know if anyone else had issues with the same?

Thank you Jafo. This is an acceptable answer for my "intolerance" I guess I'd call it. You showed me the reason I was mad and the reason I couldn't help in *that* situation. Unlike the developer you explained the scenerio, you didn't just have an F Off attitude about it. Which like I said, I've always admired you for. Well for 6 months I have..

It just easy to bring up "everything" irritating when you are irritated in general. Know what I mean? I'm usually a very reserved character. Despite my "book long" posts about nothing in general. Just like to ramble.

My intentions here as I've said before is just to help out. Not to make waves with anyone in particular really..

Some people, thanks to tabbed browsers never leave, just go to another tab and minimize browser when done, don't close it, so always logged in.

This is a true statement. I personally use Opera. But when I'm at work (where I spend most of my time on WinCustomize.com) I have to put up with Internet Explorer. (*throws up in mouth*).. Lol.. Awesome profile picture Cavan1!

Not something to be proud of.....equates to obtaining wages or salary under false pretences. If you gave as much dedication and enthusiasm, help and support as you say you do around here, your boss would be over the moon as productivity would be through the roof.

If you didn't want credit for the fix, why post you have a 'fixed' iconpack to redistribute? If you truly didn't want credit you would have contacted the artist. Based on how many times you have posted on numerous threads you fixed it but don't want credit, your statement is false.
