activation?????

what and how

I follow someone’s instructions on how to uninstall and install WB5. I rebooted after every change and, up to a point, appears to operate normal. That point being actually changing from classic to WB, uh-uh won’t happen.

In the troubleshooting window, I’m being told that WB5 is not properly activated.

WindowBlinds has not been activated correctly on this PC. Please activate it from SDC.

I know there are probably other posts out there that go through this and I think I heard something about incorrect data being maintained by SDC regarding accounts and such.

Anyhow, what do I need to do to get activated and after I am activated do I need to jump up twice and turn around three times to make it work? (vbg)

This is in the readme.txt ....

-Any activation errors, be that Error 5 or otherwise, please email kwilas@stardock.com the activate.log in the \program files\stardock\sdcentral dir. Error 5 ones have to do with your account info on the servers, did you order under a different email address than the one you are currently using? Or some people wind up with multiple records under the same email, which I have to go in and fix. So email.

Good luck finding the log though........ I haven't found one.

I think that the activation log are disabled by default. You need to enable it using:
sd_central->Tools->Settings->Installation: Log activation errors to file.

no "tools" folder

It's not a folder wimpy. It's the 'Tools'-option on the top of your SDC application (File-View-Tools-Help). You have to tick "Log activation errors to file" in the Installation section in your Settings menu.
