SD Central freezes Desktop?

everytime i lauch sdcentral, it freezes the desktop. like, if i minimize it, it's still there, even though it's not really there, like replacing the wallpaper. or any other window or menu that is on the screen when i remove it, it's still displayed, even though u can't interact with it. any ideas on this?

This will actually happen to any application that freezes while it's processing something. It will ignore the redraw messages, minimize messages, etc. You can terminate any program that freezes in this way by bringing up the task manager: ctrl+shift+escape, and on the "Applications" tab, select "Stardock Central", then click "End task" (and yes to the messagebox that comes up).

Uninstall Stardock Central and restart your computer. After restarting, download and reinstall Stardock Central:

http://storage.stardock.com/files/sdcentral_setup.exe

Restart your computer one more time and try running Stardock Central again. If you go to the c:\program files\stardock\sdcentral folder, find the login.txt file. If you're still having problems, please send an email to support@stardock.com and attach the login.txt file.

well, now it happens with other apps as well, and i have to kill the explorer process to fix it. so i'm thinking it might be more related to wb5 beta.

It's very possible that the issue might be related to Windowblinds 5 Beta (I'm impressed you included the word "beta" after wb5 because most posts on here unfortunately don't). You could possibly try removing that and see if it resolves your problem.

nah - LOL, i like the new skins that came with it too much, so i'll just deal with it for now LOL. i don't mind killing explorer.exe a few times a day LOL. maybe there is some log info or something i could pass on to you guys?

Actually there is something you could submit: login.txt. Open your favorite email client and address it to support@stardock.com. Then navigate to "C:\program files\stardock\sdcentral\" and attach the login.txt file to the email. In the body, please include a reference to this URL and we'll see what we can do to help!
