Free is good but just use the xvid codec stuff, thats an open standard and most of the software for it is free also.

They collected 3 different email addresses from me, but I haven't received the promised activation code. My addresses were on 3 different domains, hosted at 3 different ISPs. If not one of them received the email, it's because it wasn't sent.

Has anyone else received their code from this "offer"?

YES. I Got my code. Did you do this on the 28th or 29th?

On the 28th. (And again on the 29th for good measure.) It's good to know it's not a scam at least. Mabey they're just having email problems. I emailed their support people, so hopefully they'll send along a code.

I have it downloaded, and have the code. Just haven't installed and inserted the code to see if it works yet.

Find out after I get home.

Very nice of the DivX Team to offer their software for free. Already got my serial number, although I really have no need for it... and Xvid will do just as fine. But FFDShow will always be my decoder of choice.

They finally got around to mailing out my code (from yesterday morning) last night, so they should be available. Took 'em about 12 hours to do it, though. Kinda backlogged, maybe?

*lost*

Why is DivX important? I have heard of it before, but it never seemed to me something I could use.
It does look cool though... anyone making something using their new DivX proggy? Willing to share?
