Suggestion: Stars in Main Map

In the main display, stars are hidden by the fog of war.
In the mini-map, stars are visible thru the fog of war.

On large galaxy sizes, stars can be too hard to see in the mini-map.

I suggest that stars be made visible in the main map, even in fog of war and unexplored areas.

Also, this will make setting auto-pilot routes easier for colony ships, scouts, and others one would send into the unexplored void.

Finally, this is not meant to make obsolete the Stellar Cartography technology. (I am not even sure if this tech survived from GCI into GCII.) The intent is to make the basic star location information easier to use -- not to gain advantage by identifying higher quality star systems.

Thank you.

Good idea, some sort of 'neutral' star graphic to show location in unexplored space would be handy. It makes sense that we would know where stars are but for gameplay not tell us what the stars are or what is in orbit. It would make play less awkward I think.

As I think about our own real world, don't we have a very good idea what kind of star each one is? For that matter, don't we know the type of star some of the stars in some of the nearer galaxies are?

we know the stars but we have no clue about the planets. the stars emit so much light and radiation that we cannot see any planets (thats why we have to look at the gravity disturbances... which tell us were the big gas giants are mainly) so haveing the star visable is a good game play mechanic and real in real life
