Vacating

I've managed to put together 5 whole days off in a row. I have an 8:30 meeting in the morning and after that I'm turning off the cell, unplugging all the phones at home and disconnecting. For me that's a reaalll vacation. I own an engineering company and contrary to what most people might think when your the boss your always at work. I told my office manager that if he can't function without me for just 2 working days he'd better start looking for a new job. In the last 14 years I've only had 5 or 6 vacations and every one was interuppted by some "problem" that just couldn't wait. Not this time. I manage to pull of a 3 day weekend here and there and occasionally the 4 dayer (usually Thanksgiving & Xmas) but five days comes around about as often as multiple planetary alignment.
I'm not gonna go anywhere except my garage. I've been seriously neglecting all those power tools and my floor is begging for some sawdust. I told my wife and son to act like I had leprosy. I do the family thing on the holidays, this is unwind time. I might even get a chance to go fishin. If I can remember where I put the key to the boat.
