"find" still finds ships on autopilot --- Beta 3

With all ships on autopilot (all 2 of them), clicking "find" or pressing the tab key goes to one of the ships on autopilot. Unlike on beta 2, now it always does this, instead of just once a turn.

Yea, it's on our list.  But thanks for reminding me because that's very annoying indeed.

It also finds ships without any move points left.

I don't know about you but I can control AI ships as well - give them orders to move , was interesting way to defend my planet - send them away all the time

Find also finds star bases, which always have 0 move points. So far, it has always been a newly constructed star base that the find function locates.

Another oddity of this bug is that it sometimes finds a ship in the current view area, rather than any other criteria, such as the last ship moved, or the last ship found.

Heh.  That was only supposed to be in debug builds. You won't be able to do it in the next build.

I made the FindClosestMoveableShip funtion skip starbases.  Does it only "Find" ships with zero moves left if there are no ships with moves left?

Yes. That is, I think you are asking if "find" finds ships not in manual status (ships that have been on autopilot or autosurvey since the preceding turn are not moved until you hit "turn", hence have moves left) if there are no ships in manual with moves left.

One way to aggrivate this bug (make it more likely to show) is to have all of your ships on autopilot (or autosurvey) for as many turns as you can (actually, only 2 turns should be enough, but more turns will help show the pattern).

It is beginning to look like the complete uninstall/install I did has an affect on this problem. I am no longer getting ships with 0 turns or ships in an automatic move mode when I use "find". I will continue to watch this to make certain.

If what I am seeing is correct, it would appear that the Beta 3/3a downloads failed to remove something or replace something that it should have. I am beginning to believe that all testers should do a complete uninstall/install (including deletion of the saved games folder).

I am also going to anotate every report I made on Beta 3/3a with whether or not the problem still exists after my uninstall/install of 3A as I get to where I can retest the reported problem.

If the last ship selected is on auto pilot the "find" function will bring up the data for this ship when it can't find ships with moves left and not on autopilot.
