Widgets position off-screen

I've been trying to use a few widgets (specifically a clock and a calendar) and I've run into this problem where the widget will somehow locate itself off the visible screen. I want to postion these widgets roughly in the upper right corner. I travel with my laptop and one location has a docking station where the video runs at a lower resolution than the laptop's native one. The widgets don't seem to be smart enough to know that the screen resolution has changed. Once this happens, there appears to be no way to bring them back. Does anyone know where x,y coordinates are maintained?

ooh ooh - da hard drive!

hee hee - kidding - - can't pull it up, not at home - can't fully remember - builder mode, right click icon - list objects (i think it called) - shows the objects, names, relations, x , y , etc - that what you want?

If Widget is not showing..I've had this problem and finally can find my missing widgets. Just turn on DesktopX and switch to Desktop builder mode...Import the widget to desktop..Right click on icon on task bar..bring up " List objects "
Your X and Y are there, just change the numbers til you find the little devil.

Of course before doing this..make sure you you click on " New desktop"
Save changes " No " reset desktop settings " yes " so the missing widget is off screen before you import it.

if it's already up but off screen, you should just be able to find it in the list.

Bichur, not if its a widget. Unless a widget is imported, it will not show up in the Object Navigator.

Thanks all for the responses. Hard drive, eh? Now why didn't I think of that. I kept looking under my desk, my chair...

Let me see if I've got this straight. I have to fire up DX in order to determine the position of lost widgets. But I need to make sure that it doesn't hose my existing desktop. And I have to do this every time some widget decides to set it's X,Y coordinates to 5,000/5,000. To be honest, I haven't tried DX in a while because every time I played with it, it messed up my non-DX desktop. So I've been trying to avoid the time wasting effects of recovering from playing with DX. Ah well, maybe after the work day is over... Let me cast my vote to add the standard Windows move option to widgets.

And thanks for the clues. I ran DX, went into Load Widgets and found the option to clear the widget cache. I deleted the folders for the widgets I want to use and ran them. Like magic, they once again appear in a visible location.
