Transparency

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows how to make those transparent boxes with the passwords and shut down option in the middle of the screen like here: http://boss019.wincustomize.com/viewskin.aspx?skinid=4832&libid=26&comments=1&SID=5484&UID=2135778 and if its hard to do? I would like to move the options (shut down, passwords etc) from thier default locations but not sure how to make it like this logon. any ideas?

Thanks for the links pictoratus, unfortunately it looks a bit complicated to mess with the uifile.txt file

As for making the bitmaps look invisible, I did try the 1x1 bitmpas with #RRGGBB colour and yes, it made the shut down button invisible but didnt do the same with the password box (Bitmap_112). Bitmap_112 was visible and in pink.

What I also wanted to know is how to make the white transparent area in the middle of the example logon I provided above that surrounds the user pannel.

But I guess it wouldnt help me much if I dont know how to move the user panel and shut down button to the middle using the uifile.txt file. I was hoping theres an easier way to go about it other than modifying this file.

Tweety78, the links pictoratus provided tell you most if not all of how to do what you want. But you do have to edit the uifile and the ini files and you can't edit with Logon Studio. I generally edit the files and then use Logon Studio to apply them to see what it looks like, and then edit and check it again. I've had many times that the Logon came up with no userpane or shutdown, just the wallpaper, and have had many hard shutdowns during the learning process. I didn't know anything at all about coding or uifiles, I just had to spend a lot of time with trial and error and help from people I asked questions of. The Transparent area in the middle is a layer added in photoshop that is opaque and is made more transparent with settings in Photoshop. If you decide to get further into logons and need help or have a question...just email me, I'm glad to help if I can.Email Have fun.

And from the looks of your logons it was worth it (at least from this user's pov).
