I would honor all those that have given their lives in the pursuit of peace and freedom for all.

I would honor all those that have fought to protect our own peace and freedom that is taken for granted by most that live within the borders of the very country these soldiers have died for..

I would honor the US Marines who stand guard upon the fence around the clock so that we all may live our lives freely and take little notice, if we choose, of the worlds unrest, that they must watch, very carefully...

Many take this day of rememberance for granted, it's simply a day off, an "unofficial" beginning of summer or a reason to go shopping for a new car..

It is so much more than that...

Our senators were at the celebration after the parade, very nice speeches, although the beef of them were talking about why Dubya's ideas to close the Naval Air Station here are bad (I must agree that it will not be good at all), the possible closure of BIW, etc.

Hm, I didnt watch that.

Well, its was a beautiful day here and just when I was getting sick of some 20+ younger kids running around it started pouring so ppl left now its down to like 5

Right now the rain is coming down so hard it sounds like hail on the roof.

It started raining light at the beginning of the parade, then stopped, and then at the end started sprinkling again.
