Right click on an empty spot on your tabbed dock...when the menu comes up choose "add entry" then choose "New flyout menu" and when to "dock entry properties" comes up choose your title...browse for the folder you want to use and your good to go. If I'm not mistaken, "My Computer" is entered by default. And if thats the case you won't have to do anything except close the "dock entry properties" window.

Hope you can answer my question:
I have my START menu hidden (i dont want to use it EVER again)
Instead of that, i´m using my tabbed dock as my start menu (for the programs i use the most) and FOR EXAMPLE:
i have a macromedia -cool- icon on my tabbed dock (shortcut that leads to the "macromedia" on my start-programs menu), and when i click it, it opens a flyout menu, but with the start menu icons, HOW can i change the items in the flyout menu?

foomex ... open the folder that is being read by the flyout. Assign new icons to the shortcuts.

foomex,

You can right-click the flyout menu entry > choose "Dock Entry Properties" > select "Custom Menu" > use the Add button and select "New Shortcut" > you will now be navigating to, and adding shortcuts to the Flyout Menu just like you would on the dock (including the ability to select an image for the shortcut).

Your finished Flyout Menu will now show the programs you want with icon images of your choice.

Not sure if this is what you wanted though.

Hi Corky.

The Corkster's method is probably the best. That way you can use png, as well as ico files. (although mine is less work)

ok, im starting my "start" menu on my dock, from scratch, (add this add that)

im having trouble assigining a shortcut link for NORTON ANTIVIRUS... I´m copying all without trouble from the start-programs (just the link i.e. c:/programfiles/macromedia/freehandmx.exe)

with norton, i get this
Target - "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\NMain.exe" /dat:C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\navui.nsi
Start In - "C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus"
Shortcut Key - None
Run - Normal Window
Comments - Launch Norton AntiVirus 2003

when i transfer that (except comments of course) i try it in my new flyout and get the "file not found" advert...

THANKS for previous help

/dat:C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\navui.nsi

I would guess, in the shortcut properties dialog, you have to cut the above part off in the 'Target' box and paste it into the 'Arguments' box.

foomex,

Yeah, Norton has it's own way of doing the executible thing.

You can try this:

Go to "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs" folder and then open the Norton Anti-Virus folder > right-click the Norton Anti-virus icon > Properties > copy the "Target" address > paste the address into the flyout menu shortcut's "Link" text field.

That should do it.
