Worth getting Object Desktop if my screen is 1440 x 900?

Trying to decide if I should purchase.

Ok so I used to have OD about 2 years ago. Now I have a new Lappy with 17" Wide screen, native rez 1440 x 900. Do any of the windowblinds/wallpapers/logon/bootscreens fit that size. And if so is it going to be only the rare exception?

Thanks,
James

WindowBlinds dont have screen res requirements, any of them should work on any res.

Walls... Well, those are part of Windows, but you might want to try all of reses included in a wall package to see which one works for you the best.

Logons wont be as happy, because of the background images. But you can make one of your own.

If you look at your default XP boot you'll see that it is stretched. The screen res for a boot is 640x480 and will naturally look stretched, unless you make your own one that in 640x480 looks squashed, and then will not be stretched on the 640x480 that you will see.

Hope this wasnt too confusing....

I have a 1900x1200 widescreen and I run Windowblinds with no problems. I don't use logons or bootscreens so I can't help there. If you look you'll find a few Walls here in the library that have a widescreen format. Currently they are the exception but as more people get widescreens things will change. I suggest you google widescreen wallpapers. There are a lot out there.

Windowblinds is the only program that is part of Object Desktop and are widely known for working at any resolution. LogonXP, Bootskin & Wallpapers are free and not part of OD.

Bluephaze,

I just got a notebook that has the same monitor size and resolution.

I have ObjectDesktop and run IconPackager, Windowblinds (from ODesktop) and I have ObjectDock Plus - these three programs run just fine (remember to keep display at 96 dpi - normal, and all Blinds should work fine).

LogonStudio will present problems unless you create your own image.

I do not use Bootskin.

For walls, you can create your own, or find a 1600x1200 wall you like, and use any graphics editing program to first resize to 1440 pixels wide (keeping the aspect ratio) - then trim a bit off the top and bottom to take image from 1080 pixels to 900 pixels.
