Apple chasing Stardock!

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere.

Well the BBC has done an article on Apple OS X 10.4 'Tiger'.

It apparently comes with revoloutionary new ideas. An example of these ideas reads as this, "will allow users to access information such as weather forecasts, airline flights, currency converters and e-Bay auction trackers, available via mini-programs dubbed widgets."

Is it me or as a DesktopX user this all sound scarily familiar?

My congrats to Apple for copying a great idea when they see one!

Yah, this has been going on for a while.. There are many applications that had this concept FAR before Apple, Stardock being one of the first but as usual if it makes it into the Mac OS it was *invented* by Apple. If you don't believe it, just ask Steve Jobs.

There are several threads here about it if you're interested..

LOL, LOL... "most innovative and secure desktop operating system ever created".

"Tiger's groundbreaking new features like Spotlight and Dashboard will change the way people use their computers, and drive our competitors nuts trying to copy them,"

How can someone speak like this in public? Who is being copied here and who copies? Even the Dashboard appeares at Wincustomize. But not Apple's, of course.

It appeares that Mac is the best for developers (LOL), the most stable (it is stable, but not the most stable), has the best graphics (anything else but Aqua?). I'm sick of these stories. Nobody, not even Microsoft goes that far.

Well you know, Mac users come up with everything, even retroactively.

Anyone mentioned to BBC that their article could do with some more research to what's innovative?

Anyone mentioned this thread is three months old?
