Francis Ford Coppola, the man mainly responsible for the classic Godfather, has spoken out against Paramount Pictures' decision to sell the movies rights to Electronic Arts. After viewing an early build of the game, which sports the voice talents of Robert Duvall, James Caan, and the late Marlon Brando, Coppola had nothing nice to say.
"I knew nothing about it. They never asked me if I thought it was a good idea." Directly after viewing the build he said, "They use the characters everyone knows, and then for the next hour they shoot and kill each other. I had absolutely nothing to do with the game, and I disapprove," he was quoted as saying on AMC's Sunday Morning ShootOut.
The Godfather is due out for the PC, PSP, Xbox, and PlayStation 2 in the fourth quarter of 2005 with an "M" rating.
