Why download the old version?

How many people read the description before they download?

I made a textbox object for DesktopX. At first I scripted it in JScript, but realised that VBScript would be a better choice. However, I thought someone might be interested in see how the old version worked, espesially since I haven't seen too many JScript objects around, so I didn't delete the old one when I uploaded the new one.
But for some reason the old object is beeing downloaded alot more than the new one. I updated the description of the first version informing that there was a new version availible. But it doesn't seem to have any effect. So I'm wondering: do people usually read the description before they download? And: What can I do to make it more clear that there's a new version there? Use (*shrug*) caps? Add a messagebox to the old object informing about the new one? Or simply remove it?
Dont really want people do download and use the old one. Perhaps I should just upload the old one to my website instead and include a link in the new script's comment. That way people interested in seeing the old JS version still can get hold of it, but avoid the old one beeing mistaken for the new one.
