True, the Canadian star federation is a very active thread and only 3 CSF members post to it regularly. The rest of the posts (about 80%) are non CSF team members.

Find the active threads and post there.

If you are looking for help, post in the strategy forum and you will have several replies before the next day.

True, a lot of empires do stick together and one not in a particular empire can feel a little left out in one of their threads, or at least not feeling like you fit in there. So everybody got a double-eded sword: the empiring types were not flooding the main board with messages, but they were now bunched together in a separate place and getting a bit cliquish at times.

Luckily for me, at least, the Spymaster has business that spans several empires and feels quite free to crash their threads anytime even if I am not "in" with the people who frequent that thread. Sadly, though, I do not check the main forum as often anymore as a consequence of the move. So I end up helping the ones with questions less because of it.

As for the game itself, it still holds amazing powers on a lot of players long after most of them would have normally got tired of most other games. And then there are the forum dwellers who do not play much anymore but like to visit. Those are the ones that really are feeling the disconnect: no strong empire ties, but like to hang around. With all the hub bub in the Empire forum, they do not feel the strong connection as a Galciv community like before, since the emphasis has shifted to something more like "the community of Empire X's Galciv players" instead of "we are all Galciv players".

Hi SLW! If you want to interact outside the "empire" forum, just keep posting here. There are still plenty of us who still frequent this forum either actively or as lurkers. So what do you want to talk about? :)

yeah, the traffic has been dropping off month by month since the forums were split up. A lot of it has to do with the split up, and some of it probably has to do with people moving on to different games. Hopefully with AP shipping soon, itl liven this place up.

Very true, it's been rather quiet here. I hope that the release of the Altarian Prophecy will bring some extra life into the forums again.

I haven't been here for a long time myself either. I've been scanning the forums every now and then but haven't posted much.

Also have to remember that the game is over a year old now and many people have moved on to other games. I personally quit playing for about 9 months before recently coming back because of AP.

Also much of the traffic before was because we were all new at the game and asking questions, figuring it out, etc. And Stardock was active with lots of updates and so on.

Now there aren't many newbies. Those of us still playing aren't posting about how to play or trying to figure things out anymore. Stardock is about done with updates to the game itself.

This is why many think that AP will start things up again a bit. Should be some new players coming on board which will be asking all the same questions we did a year ago. One hopes anyway.

Quite alot of us(Sam Ben, Wombie, Jaws, etc) have moved on to other games, my current fad is EU2 which is something new and different. I still pop in just for the general chit-chat, story writing and bit that go on in my empire thread.

If we want to get people posting again we could start up a couple of general chit-chat threads to get us out of the empires forum.

Well as a cross-empire theme that can go on the main forum we have decided to start a succession game for everyone. So join in at http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=176370#176370 or http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=176369#176369

Help get a bit of cross-empire activity going again :)
