OD (shareware) always forgets my settings...

So I downloaded Objectdock (shareware version) about a month ago and love it. However, lately when I shutdown and restart my computer, it completely resets itself. So all my icons, dockets, and preferences are completely gone. I have uninstalled and reinstalled - I even cleaned out all the files my hand. I tried zapping it and reinstalling. All to no avail!! I cannot get OD to retain any of my settings. Bum deal.

Any ideas or thoughts?

Have you tried to save your dock once it is set up? (Dock Settings > Save Theme as....)

I sounds like OD is not shutting down fast enough and therefore does somehow not save its settings, when you reboot. Maybe if you quit OD before you reboot that would make all the difference...?

Anyway, if you save your settings it will only take a couple of seconds to bring your dock back up again...

Bum deal...it didn't work. I set up OD and saved it as a theme. Closed it down. Restarted my computer and it was completely reset back to the install default. So I then loaded my saved theme...it was there, but none of the settings were reflected after I loaded it. It's like OD isn't saving any of my preferences. Lame.

Anyone else have any ideas for me?

I don't know about the free version but the commercial version saves all its settings in C:\Documents and Settings\

I agree with Chris here. OD saving its setting has not been a problem in the past. Where do you have your OD installed? At home on your on computer, or at work on a Workstation computer?

Some workstations are setup not to save any individual profiles (I experience that on my workplace, the computer there didn't even save a wallpaper change).

In your initial post you say; "lately when I shutdown and restart.." . Can I assume that it worked initially then? Did you change any Windows settings before it stopped working? Did you use or install TweakUI or any other tweak program? Did you install another dock-program?
