Let us know about your experience on JoeUser.com

The development of JoeUser has been moving along nicely and there is still much more to do. But before we get too much further along I would like to here from some of you about your experience on JoeUser.com.

Mainly I want to here about problems you may have with the current design of the site. Whether they be bugs or design issues. At this point and time I'm not looking for Feature Requests so try to keep those at bay for now. I will post another article later asking about what features you would like to see.

So if you experience any problems or expect the site to work in a different way I would like to here your views and thoughts so we can make JoeUser a better place!

BTW, i'm one of the developers on this site.

Hey JoeTheBlow, to help you with your problem, if you are on your blog group page and are trying to create an article you cannot do so directly on the blog group. We implemented the blog groups such that in order to post an article on your blog group, you have to post your article on your blog site first, then it will automatically show up in the "recent articles" portion of your blog group as well as your blog site. If you want your new article to show up in the main body of your blog group, you have to feature the article and you can do this by going to the article on your blog site, and click the "go" button next to the "feature this article" drop down box" and then follow the instruction from there, they are fairly cut and dry, easy to understand. And there you have it, if you have any other questions about this, just reply back, i'm watching this thread so i see all the new posts and will try to answer any questions asap.

Urgent need for more lists:

I've just spent 15 minutes looking for this thread to add comments! First I clicked on the development channel. No sign of this thread. Then I saw the top stories list with the more stories and thought 'surely a post with 16 replies would be a top story', but no. Next I started looking through the different blogs and finally noticed the JoeUser development blog site (different from the development channel). Joy! I found the post I was looking for at the end of the list!

What I really could have done with was a list of ALL the posts under a particular channel. So that when I go to the development channel I can get a list of all posts, similar to the top stories list when you click on 'more'.

Yes, we are aware of the lack of the some of these lists. We will be sprucing up some of the lists in the near future.

Sounds excellent.

Still getting large numbers of 'Sorry. The article requested does not exist.' messages when trying to reply to articles.

Keep up the great work,

Paul.

request please:

a small amount of space per blogger for images. like, half a meg, you can even put a limit on the size of an individual image. it was just inconvenient that i have to go to another page to log in and upload an image and then link to it and not everyone has an off site image host.

the bonus rating under each comment is there for the comment itself right? i only ask because the message sent to me says it is about the "article".

when i was not logged in i could see the "edit" link in some of the comments, under comments made by "russellmz", which is the name i use when i don't log in.

i didn't let me change it but i don't think it should show up at all when you're not logged in.

I like the increase to 10 articles per page. Might be an idea to make this a user setting for those users on slower connections. Still could do with more lists or filters on lists (eg. list all political articles, list all development articles). Looking good.

Like the latest updates. The 'my articles' is nice. Any change of a my posts (which would include replies to other articles)?

How would you expect to see that. A listing of the Articles in which you responded to?

a list of where i recently posted comments would be nice too. or at least tell if there are new comments.

btw, if you look in the comments of an article, the article at bottom has a weird date. i think it's for all of them too. it looks ok when you don't have comments on. i even see it below:

T-Man,
the way I usually use the site is to look at the new articles and then go looking for the older articles that I posted in and was interested in. The track watch list can be used to do this, but would need to be expanded. What I would really love is the following.

Recent Comment list:

date Article last comment date

This would allow you to quickly scan through all the articles you've been posting in and look at the updated comments. A sort under data, article or last comment date would also be great but not as important. You could add this to the track list.
