I had been a user of Photoshop Album 2.0 with Photoshop Elements 2.0, and like both products. Adobe released the combination of those two in the updated version called Photoshop Elements 3.0. I downloaded and installed the trial edition. As for functionality, it looks and feels exactly the same as the two above products - though the Elements side is now called "Editing" whereas the Album side is now called "Viewing." I had thoughts of purchasing it.
My potential for purchasing it lasted all of 30 minutes. That's when I noticed that Adobe has installed and started two local services on the computer - one for monitoring your "Picture Folders" and another for monitoring for a connection to a digital camera device. Specifically, Adobe never asked if I wanted my picture folders monitored, and two, I *NEVER* connect a digital camera to my computer.
So two cpu sucking and memory eating processes were installed and set to automatically run without any use to me whatsoever. In my opinion, Adobe has no right to make those choices for me - and without allowing me to change their decision (you have to use services.msc to disable both processes).
I'm going to try out Google's Picasso 2.0 to see if it worth anything... At the very least, it's free.
