Does anyone know of a good, free DVD decoder?

I lost mine going to XP

That just about sums it up!

Didn't look at any of the results, but here's a google list:

http://www.google.com/search?q=free+dvd+decoder&sourceid=mozilla-search&start=0&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official

hmmm, it put in firefox as the client, but maybe that doesn't matter for you.

By DVD Decoder, do you mean free software that plays DVD movies?

If so, google for VLC Media Player. Open-sourced multi-format player, that plays DVD's.

I found Cliprex, but the image quality is horrible.

So far, this works very well for me. Large amount of supported formats.

Why don't you buy a DVD that comes with free DVD player like WinDVD or others? I got all the features of a pro version and I cannot be more happy about the picture quality.

Sure, spend more money. He wanted a FREE movie player.

"Hey where can I find an apple tree?"

"The orange tree is over there."

That makes as much sense.

My advice was for those who do not steel DVDs or illegally RIP them; such ones have to pay for the DVD anyway. Instead of settling for a crappy FREEWARE with crappy graphics and limitations and spyware, get the real thing for FREE as a compliment.

Secondly, when you go to any retailer, they have old DVDs for $3 or $4 bucks. I'd say that's a pretty good deal. All you have to look for is a sign saying that DVD playing software's included.
