I guess I feel the less everyone else knows about what I use, the better off I am. That goes for Virus protection, Firewall, Spyware detection, etc., etc.

I've used three antivirus programs so far. Norton, Kaspersky and NOD32. Norton was annoying me with false alarms (e.g. a malicious script in Visual Studio?????!!!!!) and I was so happy when it disappeared from my PC. Then I used Kaspersky, and I was satisfied, but I tried later NOD32 and haven't changed it so far. IT'S THE BEST ONE!!!

I used NAV for about six years. Never had one virus. Stopped using any Anti-Virus about 3 years ago. I need the resources for AutoCAD. Now I use common sense and I don't use a preview pane with outlook. If I don't know the sender (and expect the email) - I don't open the mail. I don't install any progs unless I completely trust the source. My sons computer at home still has NAV and had it installed and up to date when it got the sasser worm last year. It's back up and running with the most up to date definitions and still has yet to catch even 1 virus.

NAV2003 for virus protection, NIS2003 for Security Wall, and NSystemWorks to clean up any invalid paths.

Never had a problem since I installed them in March 2003, so "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" still holds true for me.

Similar situation here. I still use an AV program, but I don't use it resident. I either have FlashGet run it automatically after a download, or from Explorer's context menu.

I use AVG. I know it's not the best, but for my needs, it's good enough and it's free.

If you practice safe hex, you should virtually never get a virus. I never have. I've had them sent to me, but never came close to executing one of them.

I used AVG free for a couple of years but the new version messed up my e-mail (couldn't access it). Didn't want to spend hours figuring out how to configure it so I uninstalled it and installed Avast. This one seems really good but is a bit more invasive and heavy on resources than I like. Thinking about disabling the resident scanner. It seems like overkill.

I've had a computer and been online since 1989 and never had a virus.

My job is about programing Computers and fixing computers and about antivirus, Fucking Norton Antivirus... That really suck. The best is Zone Alarm Suite 5.5 , I bought Mcafee 7.0 with the firewall and is also very nice. NOD32 is also great but please norton is losing your time, Panda is also good.
