In A Strange Place

It's Only For A While

He walked for some time. It was unfamiliar terrain, so his stride was slow. John loved new places. New places entailed adveture, people, bars, all with a clean slate. Nobody knew his past, and he enjoyed that.

"Ahh," he muttered to himself as he found the bar.

Though the town was new, the bar was very familiar. He opened the door and entered evaluating the situation. It was all faces he had seen before, just in a different form. In a home away from home, John finally felt comfort. He slyly slid across the floor and pulled up a stool at the end of the bar.

"What's your poison," asked a shorter lady from behind the bar.

"I'll take a whiskey water, and I hate water," John replied with a slight grin on his worn face.

She nodded, turned her back, and went to fix his drink. John bowed his head, hands in hair, and stared at the grain of the wood on the bar top. The women returned with his drink and placed it in front of him. John looked up and she asked with a peculiar look on her face, "I think...We've..umm..Do I know you?"

John smirked, "No, I don't believe we have ever met."

Rat-when you write these blogs about John it is as you have walked his path of life. I know this is not true being who I am. So tell me where do you pull this insight from?

Love You
