As another option, we could just expand the Senate membership cap, which Yoda has set at 8; but that's either his decision, or will call for a Senate vote.
End of quote

I like the idea of call for a Senate vote. Some of the senate members submitted last game dated as far as July. We need a strong leadership in the senate in order to survive this difficult era.

Short Green figure emerges from behind the shroud, solmnly walking to the podium. Cheers from the audience abound. Apon reaching the podium, the small statured leader raises both his hands to the side and the crowd settles. Surveying the crowd, he finally begins his speach.

"Welcome, Welcome. To you I give my thanks. Firstly, for your patience in me, let me ask your thanks. A Jedi's work is never complete and studies, away from my loyal protectors of peace it has taken me. Now, I can, redevote my focus on keeping with our wonderful nation. Since much catching up I have to do, I would first like to respond to inquries, backlogged as they were.
Obi Wan Kenobi & Jedi_Master_YodaCould I please have your permission to publish the chapters that you wrote for "The Journey" when I was in Jedi space. I want to include them in the War of Worlds web site.

Please! As many additions as possible do we need to keep the community alive.

As for Council restructuring, look it over I will. Many a loyal and devoted Jedi are there in our ranks, and a hard desicion it will be.

To the new WotW I will visit to look over the JR's representation.

Recruiting, buzzing along well it has in my absence. Welcome to all the new additions to the Order.

In the coming days, many challenges do we face. As all of us know, the expansion, due out tomorrow it is. A rush, in the coming days, there will be for new territory. Fight hard my Jedi, Fight hard. Sacrifices we all must make, a new galaxy we live in. Just, as our ancestors did before us in the glorious battles of the Rebellian, defend freedom we must. Try we all must, including myself, to submit something to the cause. Good Night, my fellow Jedi. Lets Roll.

Senators stand in ovation as the leader of their great nation shakes hands of the people around him and disappears behind the shimmering Jedi Republic flag.

Welcome, all the new recruits to the Republic! I finally go my Stardock Central working tonight so I can start posting again and hopefully start playing. It is Monday night, but I have to say, 'Are We Ready for Some GC xPack Tomorrow!?!' I know I am; plus I hope it makes some of the menial tasks much simpler.

OT...I just talked to a university councilor about getting some advanced education and it is about $11k a year!!! Yikes! I thought instate tuition would have been cheaper; but I guess I am just used to the tuition I paid about 10 years ago when I finished college. How much are you students paying nowadays?

Hmm, a new election sounds like a good idea. Why, there aren't even any sith on the council!!!

If you run for a senater KEmperor, I'll vote for you. I might even become sith knight if I try hard(perhaps by this christmas?) LOL

I'm doing my usual small map now. It seems like chellenge level gives you the best scoring factor for 1.05. It only takes 6 hours of play, quite easy to play with AI, and most of all, I enjoy this level. When X pack comes out tomorrow, I'll probably stick to painful or crippling though(since I can't play with AI that much in masochistic, it always turn into kinda boring game). :notsure:

I think we should have senate readjustment whether its by vote or Master Yoda's decision. I feel the most active members in the empire should be in the senate, and I would give up my spot for someone more involved.

But anyways... I want to talk some strategy :) I play all my games the same way, and I need to change it up a bit. My strategy like in most games is to build/strengthen up before conquering. I don't do anything until I'm the dominant one. So I stay friends with everyone and keep out of wars while making the AI fight. Since I usually get almost all of the trade goods/wonders my culture dominates everyone. My attacking usually doesn't happen until I've got my huge fleet of Rangers LOL , but it's all over in a couple of turns. But it's not as much fun to trade with everyone have them all like me and then blow them all up (:( but I get over it ;) So how does everyone else play, and do you have any suggestions to change my games up a bit?

Strategywise, I often have a problem with population growth. For example, in my current game I have more than enough battleships to take out the entire Torian military but I dont have the troops to take their planets. It's frustrating, does anyone else have this problem?

I usually keep my morale at 100% to get the biggest pop growth. Building the non-expensive morale social buildings is usually good enough... Entertainment network, stadium, teleporters... One thing thats cool in the xpack is that you can stack more than 16 ships in a square, so you can invade with more than 80000 pop. This way you can use your 30 transports (hopefully) in one invasion, instead of using an invasion tactic to overcome a system with lots of occupied planets.

I'm just curious, has anyone in here downloaded my Weather Control Pack? I really want to hear some responses to it, but there hasn't been anyone responding in the thread I started for it.

KEmperor, If you keep attack them, in time they will start to delete their planet improvements and before you know it, they only got less than 1000 population. Then you can send one Combat Transport to conqure them.

I always ally with minor aliens to protect them from major aliens' attack. It's kinda fun you know protecting the weak. Or sometimes I just start a war with some major aliens from the start.(especially when they are trying to take resources that I was going to take) One game I attacked one alien righ from the start, next thing I know was all 5 of the majors attacking me. I had pretty hard time surviving that one(It was on tiny, abundant, masochistic difficulty). Well, it was hard game but fun. :d

Not only that - the ENTIRE council is Chaotic Good. Hmmm... I'll vote for some new blood in here.

KEmperor, keep your people happy and they'll breed. Morale improvements are good. Lowering taxes also helps a LOT. Between trade and selling your tech, there are better ways to get money.

StBlasius, I've been doing the typical "Chaotic Good" strategy - keep the alignment over 50 to keep the FOTR (Altarians) and MWC (Torians) off my back, scraping out a survival living, and trading with/protecting the closest minor. Massive tech trading and starbase abuse to get my infrastructure up to speed. Then, replace my "paper tiger" military with Dreadnoughts and Frigates and start picking off the AIs one at a time.

This has worked fine on Painful, but with the scoring changes in place on 1.09, I thought I'd try it on Crippling. Same basic strategy, but I needed 6 fully-loaded trade/culture/production starbases in my own sector just to catch up! I'm now ramping up my military, but may have waited too long - I have Rangers on the assembly line against everyone else's mixed bag of Dreadnoughts and Death Knights, but I'm facing a massive alliance between FOTR, MWC, and ANZAC (Arceans). The Euros (Yor) are dead, and GROSS (Drengin) is actually my best trading partner...!

As a side note, what the heck are the Altarians doing building Death Knights anyway?!?

The Death Knight has become an Battleship variant rather than an evil ship. At least for the moment.

I have a quick question about metaverse scoring. Jon50 had score of 93300 yesterday. I know it because I was right behind him the day before. Now he submit one 14790 score game and he got about 98800 metaverse score. Thats more than 5000 metaverse point. Now... I do not get it. I played many games with score of 14000 points(check my score) and never got more than 3500 metaverse score. I'm confused somebody clear this for me?

He probably grew another monthly block. I've explained it in the Fellowship FAQ > http://www.angelfire.com/rings/fellowshipgalciv/faq.htm

Ray, I make 120,000 dollars pure profit a year from one of my stores. If you ask me about any product with tax value, or current trend of beer value, or anything related to convinience gasoline store business, I'll answer it within 1 sec. BUT I'm no good at math. I read your link above and have no clue what it means. Let me put it this way.
1. Does monthly block increases your score?
2. When is the first month for each player?
3. Is montly block applied same date to all the players? or is the date differ from each other?

Thanks for the reply Ray. I'll try to learn about square root today then calculate to see the score comes up right.
Ray, according to your calculation, here is what I came up with.

If monthly block is based on when you submitted very first game, here is the result of Jon50
TS(total Score) GS(games submitted) DBSRT(divided by sqrt of number of games) RS(real score with aging score)

April 3245 TS, 7 GS, 1226.49 DBSRT, 919.87 RS
May 15746 TS, 9 GS, 5248.66 DBSRT, 4198.93 RS
June 69702 TS, 10 GS, 22041.70 DBSRT, 18735.452 RS
July 159610 TS, 16 GS, 39902.5 DBSRT, 35912.25 RS
August 60810 TS, 5 GS, 27195.05 DBSRT, 25835.30 RS
September 25950 TS, 2 GS, 18349.42 DBSRT, 18349.42 RS

Total is 103951.22 metaverse score.

Mine is

June 65431 TS, 8 GS, 23133.35 DBSRT, 19663.34 RS
July 80410 TS, 7 GS, 30392.12 DBSRT, 27352.9 RS
August 155250 TS, 11 GS, 46809.63 DBSRT, 44469.14 RS

Total is 91485.38 metaverse score.

If you look at the metaverse score Jon50 has 98811 points and I got 96501 points.

This draws me an another question, why Jon50 has less than what he supposed to have and I got more than I supposed to have?

I think you start with the last score submitted and work backwards.

work backwards.... well, I certainly do not wish to calculate those again. I'll just have to be silent and go with the tide... :notsure:

After long though and consideration, decided I have, to hold a new election for the Jedi Council. Inactive members up for replacement on the council, include:
Arcilte
Moff Tarkin
Count Dooku

Thats three new councilers needed!

IF the above councilers reafirm their status, immediatly off the replacment list they will be. This is to see who is truly just tied up. All active jedi are eligible to run, reguardless of score or alignment (KEmperor..).

The first election will take place Monday, September 22nd. If you would like to run, simply post and say you are running for the council. ANY NOMINEE MUST BE CONFIRMED BY THE COUNCIL MEMBERS PRIOR TO BEING ACCEPTED ON THE COUNCIL. :HOT:
