wouldnt hurt for the whole section to be a rotating one .Dump the lot every month,nix the stats.Or limit the whole section to 300 entries.Or limit each person on a 10ss max rotation.(the last idea is tha best I think)

From someone who puts A LOT of time into making a stupid simple screenshot, the one thing that urks me is people who simply apply a WB skin, wallpaper and icons...capture it and upload it. Now, I know not everyone likes to modify perfectly working skins, so they just upload whatever it is they like. Not letting them do that is simply unfair. What I think would improve the screenshot section is MORE moderation, just like the wallpaper section. Notice how everyone tries a bit harder, and appreciates it more if their wallpaper gets accepted? Moderation might make the people who take screenshots be more aware, and try a bit harder...

My two cents...if they are relevant or not.

I have slowed down to about one a day, though. And now I am only submitting a ss if I made the wall, so it takes a bit more time. The better I get at PSP9, it will probably be a week between SS. I totlally agree with naming the authors or the skin names, though. I don't even look at "Super's" shots any more.
Sorry if my shots were annoying the admins in the past. I was bored.

i put all author names and links on the screenshots i submitted because i feel it is only fair if the authors get some respect for the work they did and the effort they put into making what ever they made... this provides them with some credit and possibly even a couple more downloads if someone likes the combo... i am however guilty of submitting more than one in a day.. but those three where the only ss that i submitted so

I think some authority should write an email to stop that.

maybe only two screen shots a month if it isnt a wb you havemt made yourself just my opnion. But I have notice many screen shots in one day by the same person

It would b alright if it was the authors original work,(like original walls with current or past WB's) but not these SS's that are already in the WB section.And some people go overboard on SS's should make it a max 2 a day!

At first when I saw something of mine being used in a ss I was flattered,until I realised they were only using it for a couple of hours...if that.

Which gives me an idea.......wouldnt it be neat if winCustomize had a way of finding out which skins were being used rather than just dl'd?A cookie perhaps?

I agree with you IR. I don’t find the meaning or sense of changing your desktop every other hour. I usually like to enjoy the look of my desktop for a week or so before I change it (unless I’m using one of my skins, then I'll leave it a bit longer )

changing my desktop takes alot of time for me because I have to have everything to match or recolor things my self. I have been making some of my own object dock plus tabs still new at it but some come out ok. I like the screen shots when people add there own things to it like a calender etc etc

Nobody said my screenshots were nice...

I put a lot of work in them. expecially since I usethe look for at least a few weeks at a time now (when I first started I would change my desktop almost every day).

Anyway, I have been here for a while and to me, while I might have broke this code, it doesn't make much sense to upload 3 or more screenshots in a day. It is not within the ature of the site actually do do so.

basically, what I am saying is that those who been here for a while should know better. I will do my best to name authors in screenshots and try to provide links at most to their works.

a thread about food and screenshots..cool shiz..in the future i will list the links and authors to give them that there credit..in some parts..from what i did sometimes..you cant really remember the link for example on where you mighta gotten that wallpaper..im down with that one a day shizniz..its like happening dude

Seeing as you can't download a screenshot, there seems little reason to keep older shots in the library. I would dump anything older than a month or two. It would free up a little server space if nothing else.

I think that idea was floated a while back, but a bunch of people started saying "spyware...no way" ...thing is, it was'nt going to be forced on you, but an option you could choose... (IIRC)

Don't know what became of that idea though ...perhaps they'll make it a part of WC2K5?

Allright, I hacked about 1/3 of them. I will continue to whittle away at them till I'm down to a couple dozen. Some of them mean something to me, though, so I will keep many. Although, I have them in my own computer. Maybe I'll chip em down to 10. Yeah, that's what I'll do. Anyone care?

I do agree with 80% of your opinions...I take days setting up a screen shot. I like mixing and matching everyones work . I also admire the work that goes into the making of windowblinds , walls, objects etc. I also agree that 1 or 2 screen shots a weeks are enough, and at least list the name or the blind and objects in the shot..links are even better. Numerous times I've left comments asking about a blind etc, and never got a reply. BUT....if your going to make this a site for just the " Elite" then I guess so be it. Makes no difference to me. But a village of Kings without Citizens...well, pass the cheesecake , and carry on.

I like cheesecake. I make a creamy peanut butter pie that has 1 lb of cream cheese and 4 cups of whipping cream. mmmm. My mother make a pumpkin / cream cheese pie that is out of this world. It's amazing that I only weigh 185 at 6'.

Fairyy, I am not an elite. I have no skill in skinning and only recently bought a photoshop type product to play. I will leave the screenshots that I am proud of, because it does take time to scour all of the skins, find the right matches, download the items, assemble them and give credit to the authors. And the comments are worth a lot to me. BUT I am also a member of this community, and in any community you have to be, well, kind to your neighbors. If I can free up a bit of bandwidth at no expense to me, I can and will do that. I do consider you "elite" because of your kind words, honesty, and killer shots. Please don't think that any one is saying this site is only for skinners. It's just that some "super" people abuse this site and will abuse many things for some unknowwn, weirded out motive of a reason. I like your shots. I like your words. Stay and be happy. Like me.
