...because this is one of the nicest computer game forums I've ever seen, whether because of moderation (which has remained unobtrusive and unnoticed) or just because of the maturity and age level of GalCiv players.

I mean, I haven't even seen ONE post of the "hAHA our empire ROXORS u SUCK u FAGGORT" variety, and it's very refreshing. (Go play Counterstrike or Diablo II on battle.net to see what I'm talking about.)

So let's everyone have a big group hug, spread the smilies around, and keep up the good work!

One person with a previous attitude problem makes not a troll epidemic. Tolerance is one of our community's greatest values, but there are limits that are sometimes tested. Overall, though, the mostly hands off approach has worked well. We rarely see a visible display of moderator power. The power is there, though. Those of us who have hung around long enough have seen lightning strike once in a great while.

I like to think that there are some teenagers here. I think that teens are just as capable of being thougtful, mature, and productive citizens as any of us.
