I wouldn't be knocking people who port skins to other skinnable proggies. They do take work to create. Yes a bootskin, a rainy or an objectdock doesn't take as long to make as a WB Skin, but they do take time. The originality, developing an idea and turning it into something might be lost, but the work is still there and we all benefit from it

A bootskin and a wallpaper are not the same thing. Taking a nice wallpaper and converting it to a crappy pixelated image is so wrong I have to contain myself. Has anyone to date taken a bootskin and converted it to a wallpaper? NO! Why? because bootskins have a different use than wallpapers.

What happened to the art of creating a bootskin? Trying to create one using 16 colors that looks good is very difficult. Porting every wallpaper that comes along is causing everyone to lose touch with the art of creating a bootskin. Please stop porting wallpapers for bootskin usage. They ALL look like poop. Get back to basics and create something new, original, and works as a bootskin. I know my words are confusing and I know I am going to offend alot of people but I just had to say what I had to say. For the bootskin authors that I offend....you have misssed so many opportunities it is rediculous. Here are a few

Totally agree on this. That is why I reject all the permission request to port any of my walls into BootSkins, beside I port them my self

I also hate when they port a wall into a Logon but leave the default buttons and user images. It's like a half-way-done bad job. >

Now back to the topic. porting isnt a good thing and i agree with it. But here are some stuff out there asking to be ported and I port them. Plus they also get downloaded . Well not many subscribers do that but normal users do.

Now Looking at the above stats my best downloaded and rated are my Original Work. Then again the worst ever are also my original work. Where as the Ports just lay in the middle.
