IconX won't leave my icons in place...

I am having a little problem. IconX will not leave my icons where I put them. When I reboot, they are not where I left them. I have tried and tried to save them so that the icons are where I want them. But IconX changes them everytime I boot, to where IT wants them. I know it is IconX because as soon as I turn off said program, the icons go back to their proper place. HELP.. it is driving me mad.

Also noticed that I cannot use IconPackager, with IconX. I only see one set of icons no matter what set I try to load. Does anyone know why this is so? It seems rather dumb for Stardock to have two modules that are incompatible.

Well when I last read, it said that the free version of IconX did not let the user save their changes to the configuration. So im guessing, and this could be a long shot, but you probaly have the free version.

Dont feel bad I had the same thing happen to me. Except it happened whenever it wanted to, not just after I rebooted.

If you have the registered version, well I just read that it has a bug they have to work out.

To to clarify, if you don't have a 'themes' folder inside your 'iconx' folder (I didn't), create one, then copy your 'whatever.states' file from your 'presets' folder into your new 'themes folder and rename it to 'whatever.ixtheme'. You should then find it in the IconX config in the themes tab.

Hope it is ok to copy paste this. If not please forgive me.
Looked Helpful.

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately, the themes folder was already there, and the moved file did not help. But thanks for the effort. I will have to wait and see if the newer versions fix this problem. Oh, I do have the Desktop Object version of IconX, is that the one that cannot save the settings?
