He was directing you to the sticky thread at the top of the message board called "You have a great web site you want to share? Post it here!"

That is where you should post the link to your site, rather than making a new post.

"The thread has been locked" means that no one can post to it anymore.

I have already posted my ''great site'' there you know....I just did not get ,that everything has to be judged and categorized by admins....if it is so, i am really sorry for that and hope to be able to express my ideas and feelings about anything in this incredible world of internet...

Helen, it is not judging and categorizing.  That thread is always there where people can always find the link they want.  Otherwise they slip down and off the page.

Lots and lots of people have sites they want people to see, and this way everyone always knows where to look.

Ah well, Helen.  I'm not trying to argue or anything.  We have asked everyone to put their links there, and I know that when I am looking for someone's site I always look there.  I don't go looking back through all the pages.

There have been so many requests to post links and this way we are fair to all the people.

Helen, keeping common posts on such a topic as url's (websites) is better management of the board because of the number of users on the site each day and the number of sites they feel others might have interest in browsing. A Ballpark number of half the registered users posting 1 site they think others would like in single threads ends up being 500,000 individual threads.

Could you imagine what the board would be like in one months time?

As the site grows it's natural that so will the user-base who frequent this board....and as that happens so too will there be an increase of 'hey check out my website' posts.

Easiest and most practical way to maintain some sort of board sanity is to provide a static thread for such posts and free up the 'general area' for other things.

Needless to say, the more frequently that new threads are posted the sooner older ones are going to disappear and be overlooked.....so categorizing/controlling 'site-link' threads within their own grouped thread is a win-win situation....the links get more permanence and 'clutter' on the board is reduced...

Of course it doesn't help a lot to then end up with a 'where is my hey look at my site link thread gone to and why is it locked?' thread instead.....sorta defeats the purpose....

First of all I want to tell you that I trust you completely....lols...
and second I wish I could have all of my friends -including you of course- with me to be there live instead of watching them on TV...but I guess we have to stop dreaming and enjoy whatever each of us have in real life.....
