Thinking about getting more space for my laptop

Is an internal hard drive better than an external or vice versa when dealing with notebooks? And which brand would you recommend?

If you are going to use it for backup, I would go with external. If you just want more disk space, than replacing the existing one would work.

70 gigs for a notebook is pretty good. Mine only has about 30.

I personally have 3 external drives. I love them and it makes it easier to move stuff, from machine to machine. Also if I have to help out someone, do some work on their machines (bang, zoom) there ya go, space is availabe. What I find is best is to ebay some external usb 2.0 empty external cases, and add my own devices. I evangelize external components, now, to my whole family and friends. It sure beats forking over $$$, over and over again, to put, the same parts into machines throughout the house. I did the same thing for my DVD Burner and saved a bundle, rather than buy a ready made external burner. You can also go for a 2.5" lappy drive usb external, and it draws it's power from the socket. I use one of these as a pocket drive.
