I dont understand what ObjectDock is and does?!? HELP

From what I gather objectdock allows you to create animations from simple picture files using DesktopX? I've downloaded objectdock and several "animated" shortcuts from wincustomize but none of them are working. When I create a new object in desktopx and use the downloaded object it just appears as a large picture that doesnt animate. How do I use objectdock to make these objects animate? I cant find any documentation on it

Also if the whole point of objectdock is to create animated objects, then why in the heck are there tons of postings in the ObjectDock section of wincustomize that are just pictures and are not intended to animate?

ObjectDock is not intended to just be an animated launch bar. Some artists have created icons in form of animation thru scrips but this doesnt mean that all the OD icons are to be animated.

ObjectDock is a program that allows you to have a nice animated launchbar/taskbar on your screen that reacts to your mouse when you mouse over it.

In short, it's a task bar and program launcher that does it with style.

OD is animated, in the sense that the icons expand on mouse-over. There are "animated" dock icons in the traditional sense, but they didn't exist when that description was written.

OD has nothing to do with 'creating' animations, nor has it anything to do with DX.
