Install error

I am trying to install Fences on a freshly installed Windows 11 26H1 from June. I get error all the time and I have tried using the Fences Purge too. No matter what I do it just fails. I have been using Fences for several years, but now no matter what I do I'm stuck I hope someone knows how to solve this?

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. If you tried installing in a Windows Sandbox does you still get the same error? Refer here for guide on Sandbox test: https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1416560645/Testing+Fences+in+Sandbox. Try it and report back.

Sorry it took me quite a while to reply, weekend and lots of work etc. However i have now tested in Sandbox and Fences works fine and installs without issues. I have also made sure I am up-to-date with regards to windows updates and drivers from manufactorer (HP), still get the issue. I have to run the Purge_Fences tool as otherwise my primary monitor keeps going to sleep - that doesn't really make sense.

Need to know which Fences version, you're trying to install? Also searching information on Windows 11 26H1 is device specific release for ARM devices.

Windows 11 version 26H1 is officially available. However, it is a specialized, hardware-optimized release meant exclusively for new ARM-based PCs (such as devices with Snapdragon X2 processors) and is not offered as an upgrade for existing Intel/AMD devices.

Not really sure if Fences compatible with this new Windows version. Moving forward, I have forwarded your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience. Thank you.

Hmm, I hadn't noticed the ARM specifics on MSDN 😬, so I had just downloaded the latest version. I will try reinstalling using 25H2 and see if that makes a difference - just gotta find the time for it
I tried installing Fences v6 for which I have a license.
