I apologize that this by its very nature is somewhat rude, and I understand that Start11 isn't exactly an expensive product that my particular settings may potentially be some of the least common and therefore the least worthwhile to support, and that the developers have to constantly adjust to the shell changes that come through Windows Updates, but:
I very much would like to enjoy and appreciate Start11, but it is difficult when (at least for me) there are many issues that require weird workarounds (like having icons littered on my desktop nowhere near the edge), or actions that feel like I'm constantly fighting the software to accomplish what I need (clicking multiple times, dealing with delayed icon display, things hiding when they shouldn't, panels overlapping, etc.)
Given that I just experienced another new bug I just had to report, it doubly doesn't help that it seems things are moving in the wrong direction, instead of the right one.
There are currently 4 issues I've reported that we confirmed as reproducible by the devs, that are coming up on about 1 year since being reported:
- ODNT-9817 (this is the most annoying)
- ODNT-9818 (this has in-part been a bug since Start10!)
- ODNT-9819
- ODNT-9895
- ODNT-11969 (added after this post was made)
There is also this arrow issue, which while minor is possibly a 5 minute fix if the Enhanced Taskbar when horizontal is composited in custom pieces just like it is when vertical (where the arrow was correctly changed to match the side of the monitor it's on).
I suppose that, out of desperation, I am simply asking for any kind of indication that these issues will ever be addressed, as the current experience is frankly more than frustrating.
I would simply have moved to another shell modification tool by now, as several of them have much more stable taskbar replacements, but none of their start menu replacements hold a candle to Start11's IMO.
If only Microsoft just wasnt a b*****d and had top-taskbar support to begin with, as that's the main reason I use this product.
