I am the warehouse manager for a company that manufactures and distributes adult videos and products. We're about the 3rd largest distributor in the USA. It's a 'dirty' job...but hey...it pays well.

Is that 'manufactures' referring to the media or the content

Chris...the media, the content is 'manufactured' in California, well about 80% of it anyways...

And the other 20% is.. what? home movies?

I guess I should 'fess up - my industry is about as notorious... My company imports/distibutes surveillance equipment for the local traffic enforcement authorities. I'm saying no more

#25- Web offset presses. We print 90% hobby magazines...cars, motorcycles, fishing, boating, etc... We also print a large portion of the Advo mailers that every household in the USA gets once a week. [ Yeah, now you know who's to blame for your weekly dose of junkmail!]

Registered nurse, currently working for the public health department of Santa Barbara County. Before that, I worked at a local extended care center, then at the local hospital, then at a private clinic/doctors' office. Working for the public health department has been an eye-opening experience, let me tell you.

tjesterb , so your the one I should run over with my mail truck.

Jinn Fizz, I hope Santa Barbara is still as pretty as it was when I lived there in the late 50's thru the mid 60's.

WOM, I actually live in Santa Maria and work at the Lompoc branch of the county PH department, but I do pass through Santa Barbara on occasion...it really is a beautiful town, especially on a day when there are no clouds in the sky and the sun is shining so bright. But it's ever so expensive to live there...I believe I heard not too long ago that the median price for a house there is something like $600,000. And the rents are pretty hideous too. More and more people are working there but commuting from Ventura and Oxnard to the south and Lompoc and Santa Maria to the north.

But I certainly do appreciate getting paid Santa Barbara-level wages, even if I'm not actually working in the city of Santa Barbara .

600,000 for a house? dude.. not too shabby.. how big are these houses? because a small town house in my neighborhood is going for 750,000-1 mil i'm talking.. 1300 square feet.
