Dissapearinbg files

Urgent, please.

I'm running Fences 6.0.0.2 on a Windows 11 PC running with last update. For personal use only. I'm a music addict (Not professional), it's my hobby. A few months ago I downloaded quite a few MID, STY and Other files for my Yamaha Keyboard, and opened up a fence for each of those three categories that were transferred to Fences 3 or 4 months ago.... 3 days ago, when starting my computer I realized that all files transferred to Fences months ago, were just gone... Simply disappeared... My question is...: Is this a fence's problem..., how can I recover those files.? They were supposed to be safely guarded there..., what can I do??? I probably won't be able to download them again... Please, your urgent help will be much appreciated...

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need few more details.

  1. Have you tried restore saved backup? If you did not yet, please try this first, try those older one. Do know that Fences by default save daily back up up to 7 days.
  2. Need to know, where is those files physically located? In your Desktop folder or in some other folder.
  3. Was those Fences were Folder portals Fences or normal Fences?

My replies to your quwstions are: 1) Have not tried restore, it could restore something else at the same time. 2) Desktop folder. 3) Normal Fences.

Woud it be better to use a different program for this purpose. Will appreciate your comments..., Thank you.

Yes it could restore the location of the Fences if it moved to somewhere visually that make you can't get to them. But, it can not by itself add, remove or recover deleted files/shortcuts/folders from your system. Fences is just your desktop organizer not a file manager. It does work with file manager to delete something. What you can do is, check your desktop folder and see if those missing file stills appear in your actual desktop folder. If it does, Fences should be able to display it properly. 

If those missing files also missing from your desktop folder. Most probably something has delete it off or move somewhere else. Which from what I know is something Fences by itself can not do.
